Easy May Day Baskets

This is a super easy, fast and cheap way to create fun May Day baskets for your friends and neighbors!
Start with a plastic or paper cup.  I had some left over from a party in the fall.  Cut a length of ribbon or raffia or even wire to use for a handle.  I used a thick Grosgrain ribbon for mine.

Next, take an ice pick or a brad setter and punch a small hole in the sides of your cup.  Mine cracked a little, but it works fine.  I then cut a tiny slit in the ribbon as well and placed a metal brad through the ribbon and cup.
You can find these brass brads in boxes at places like Walmart, office supply stores or craft stores.

I then placed a paper doily in the middle for a decorative touch.

I copied a black design onto blue paper and cut it out with a circle template.  I think I will punch a hole and attach it to the cup or handle once filled!  Great way to use left over paper or plastic cups!

Baseball Spinner Cards

Start with an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of cardstock and cut it in half.  Fold in half to create a card. ( This should be rotated to see it right, sorry!) You may also use a pre-made 5 1/2 x 4.25 card purchased from a craft store.  I used a pre-made one for this project.

Cut a second piece of cardstock or paper of your choice to fit the front of the card 4.25 x 5.  I cut it just a little bit smaller so I could see the color of the base card around the edges. The next step is to use a Word Window Punch from Stampin Up or cut out a long rectangular shape by hand, approximately 3 inches long by 6/16 inch wide and then cut round ends.

I used a small quarter sized felt baseball for the decoration on the front of this particular card.
You will also need 2 pennies.  Apply a foam dimensional to one of the pennies.Adhere the penny to the baseball.

Next apply a foam dimensional to the second penny and sandwich them together.  So you'll have a penny, dimensional, penny, dimensional and baseball.

Carfully fit the pennies into the "slot".  The paper will fit in between the 2 pennies so it will spin when tilted.

I also applied a baseball bat sticker where the slot will be so it isn't blank in the opening.

Next, make sure you apply foam dimensionals on the back of the paper with the "slot" so it stands out enough to make the pennies spin.

Finish the inside with a note.
When the card is tilted slightly, the object on the front will slide and spin!!
